How to Report an Error
Email us with the article URL, the statement you believe is inaccurate, an explanation of the concern and any credible supporting source. Please do not send confidential medical or relationship information.
How We Review Reports
- We locate and review the passage in context.
- We check the sources used and seek stronger evidence when necessary.
- We determine whether the issue requires a correction, clarification, update or no change.
- We revise the page when a meaningful improvement is supported.
Types of Changes
- Minor edits: spelling, grammar, formatting or clarity changes that do not alter meaning.
- Corrections: changes to inaccurate facts, misleading wording or attribution.
- Updates: additions reflecting newer evidence, policy or context.
- Retractions: removal of content that cannot be responsibly corrected.
Transparency
When a correction materially changes a conclusion or important factual claim, we aim to include a visible correction or update note. Routine copyediting may be made without a separate notice.
Response Time
We review credible reports as promptly as practical. Complex questions may require additional research and therefore take longer.
